About Grabeth

A family shop that has been on valves since 1968

Grabeth Sales and Service, LLC works on industrial valves and the control equipment around them, for the oil and gas industry, from Odessa, Texas.

Our story

Grabeth Sales and Service was formed in the summer of 1968 by W.L. “Dub” and Cecilia Hollowell. It started as a valve shop in Odessa and it is still a valve shop in Odessa.

The work has stayed recognisable across that time. Operators and plants across the Permian Basin run valves that eventually leak, stick, or stop controlling properly. Some of that equipment comes to us. For the rest, we go to it.

What has changed is everything around the valve — the actuators, the positioners, the instrumentation. The shop has followed that, which is why a repair quote now starts with the nameplate and the service conditions rather than just the size.

Where the name comes from

Grabeth

Named after the two daughters of the founders. It has been over the door since 1968.

How the work happens

Two places, one shop

Whether a job is a workshop repair or a site visit usually becomes clear in the first conversation. Either way it is the same people.

  • In the shop, in Odessa

A valve arrives, gets stripped down and inspected, and we quote the work before any of it starts. It goes back with the scope we agreed.

    • Teardown and inspection
    • Repair scope agreed before work
    • Reassembly and return
  • On your site

Some problems only make sense where the equipment is installed. A technician comes to the facility, diagnoses it in place, and works out what can be done there and what has to come back with us.

    • On-site diagnostics
    • Troubleshooting in place
    • What stays, what comes to the shop

What we work on

A photograph of the nameplate and a line about the symptoms is usually enough to get started.
